In early 1997, the supply vessel business reached day-rate levels
never seen before. On January 31, 1997, the Management Committee
made a strategic decision to sell its vessel assets to Trico
Marine Assets, Inc. (Trico Marine Operators, Inc.). The decision
was in line with the long term strategic objectives of the company.
In April of 1997, Laborde Marine entered in to an agreement
to have two new OSV’s constructed. The first vessel "M/V
Red Lab" is expected to out in June of 1998 and second
vessel "M/V John P. Lab" is expected out in July of
1998. The company presently is finalizing a contract with a
major oil company to lease both boats long term.Laborde Marine,
LLC operates four offshore supply vessels servicing various
oil and gas activities in the Gulf of Mexico.
